Profile:
Gentle Path is a Non-profit counselling agency providing Children & Adult Services, Counselling & Group Programs in the Saint John area--self-esteem (children, men's and women's groups), anger management (children's, men's & women's groups), family violence, assertiveness training, parenting, relationship, co-dependency, yoga and so on. Recently, Gentle Path celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a special celebraton held at the Glen Carpenter Centre.

While our main office is in Saint John, we do operate a satellite office in the St. George area. The Agency's Mission Statement is: to provide people with hope and healing opportunities through professional counselling and educational group programs. We offer service to all individuals regardless of financial means. Professional Counselling Staff & Associates totals 18; volunteers total 15 and there are three full-time office staff, including the Executive Director.

Gentle Path is the primary service provider of employee assistance services for a number of Saint John and area companies, as well as School District 6, School District 10, IBEW Local 502, Local 813, Department of Public Safety, Victim Services New Brunswick, and the Department of Social Development, to name just a few.

Gentle Path is also the service provider appointed by the Province of New Brunswick to help new Applicants wishing to pursue an
International Adoption in this province. Gentle Path provides Adoption Information and training sessions for all Applicants in New Brunswick, help and support in completing necessary Adoption Home Study and post-placement forms, and a variety of other services.

Two major fundraisers are held each year: Curling & Auction in the fall and Bowling in the Spring. The Agency also receives some funding from MindCare Foundation, The Greater Saint John Community Foundation & United Way. The Agency is governed by a Board of Directors who oversees its general operation and an Executive Director guides the day-to-day operation.
