Profile:
Charitable organization founded in 1959 and one of 122 local offices in Canada.
Through an Annual Fundraising Campaign, funds are raised in the community and distributed to 25 member agencies, over 60 donor-designated agencies and 10 or more program-funded agencies providing vital programs and services to individuals and families in the counties of Saint John, King and Charlotte. Over $30 million has been distributed to agencies since 1959.
Programs and services include hot meals, basic literacy, education, palliative care, substance abuse risk awareness, rehabilitation, temporary shelter for women and their children who are victims of abuse, personal care, home care, meals-on-wheels, counselling in parenting, budgeting etc, day care, mentorship, camps, volunteering, information and referral, assistance to individuals injured, disabled or unemployed with appeals, and many others.
