Practice Areas and Interests
Gary was admitted to the New Brunswick Bar in 1979 and has practiced law with Lawson & Creamer since. His initial practice focused on corporate/commercial, litigation, administrative and labour and employment work. Over the last several years, Gary?s work has been primarily focused on corporate/commercial and labour and employment law.
Gary?s business law practice, while locally based, also has both a national and international component. While Gary does a lot of work for medium and large business, he also works with small businesses. His business work ranges from incorporating companies and drafting shareholder agreements through to negotiating and carrying out the purchases and sales of both large and small businesses, as well as many corporate and commercial activities in between. Gary is also active with business contract drafting and reviewing, as well as occasionally acting for business before such tribunals as the Public Utilities Board.
On the labour and employment side, Gary advises clients on a broad range of matters, including union certifications and collective agreement issues such as arbitrations and negotiations. On non-unionized employee matters related to such things as terminations, human rights, employee policy manuals, and the like, Gary also has more than twenty years of experience.
Education
After graduating from Milledgeville North High School, Gary attended UNB in Saint John and completed a degree in Business Administration in 1976; Gary then graduated from UNB Law School in 1979.
Work For The Profession
Gary has, over the years, participated in a number of initiatives involving the legal profession, including teaching seminars and courses, writing articles for various journals and conferences, being interviewed by the media with respect to legal matters and teaching at the Bar Admission course. As well, Gary has served as Chairman of the New Brunswick labour law subsection of the Canadian Bar Association.
Outside Our Office
Gary has served the community in a number of ways over the years, including having served as President of the Saint John Board of Trade, as well as chairman and/or a board member of various organizations such as Hospice of Saint John, Rocmaura Nursing Home and the University of New Brunswick Alumni Association. Gary has been actively involved in the unique local initiative known as the BCAPI (Business Community Anti-Poverty Initiative), where a large number of senior business and professional leaders in the community are attempting to significantly reduce poverty. For the last number of years, Gary has served as co-chairman of the organization. Gary has also served as a part-time Vice-Chairman of the Labour and Employment Board for New Brunswick and for a time, served as Interim President of Kent General Insurance and General Insurance Corporation of New Brunswick.

Practice Areas and Interests
Bob has practiced law with Lawson & Creamer since 1989, having joined the firm after working with another firm in the area. While he continues to represent clients in a wide range of civil litigation and business law matters, Bob has become increasingly focused on estates and trusts over the past few years.
While Bob?s Civil Litigation Practice includes representing individuals on personal injury and estate claims, he also has an extensive commercial litigation practice in which he negotiates, mediates, and litigates claims for businesses, banks, and municipalities. He also provides legal services to his business clients for financing, secured transactions, and other commercial matters.
Regarding estates and trusts, Bob analyzes, recommends and prepares legal documents relating to Estate Plans: Wills; Powers of Attorney (both enduring and for personal care); trusts; asset protection; business succession; family business assets; estate freezes; future care considerations (nursing homes, extended care); out of province and foreign assets and special issues such as incapacity, infirm persons and disabled children. He has acted for and continues to act as executor, attorney and trustee for various estates and trusts.
Educational and Professional Background
After graduating from St. Malachy?s High School, Bob attended UNB and completed a Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration in 1980. He then obtained his Bachelor of Law degree from the UNB Law School in 1985. Bob?s non-legal background includes several years working in the banking industry and in the human resource field of the oil and gas industry in Western Canada.
Work For the Profession
As a complement to his practice, Bob is currently and has been affiliated with various legal groups and associations. He has served as the President of the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association, and as the New Brunswick Chair of the Canadian Bar Association?s Municipal Law Subsection. Bob has served as a member of the Law Society of New Brunswick, the Saint John Law Society, the Ontario Trial Lawyer?s Association, and the Mediation Institute for the Atlantic Provinces. In addition, he has lectured and written for various conferences and journals directly relating to his areas of legal expertise, in such topics as Creditors Rights, Insurance Law, Negligence, Liability and Damages, the Fundamentals of Litigation, Municipal Liability, Wills, Estates and Trusts.
Bob has been an instructor in the New Brunswick Bar Admission Course since 1991 and has delivered presentations to lawyers on behalf of the New Brunswick Branch of the Canadian Bar Association as well as for New Brunswick Continuing Legal Education Programs. He has written articles, lectured, chaired and assisted in conducting legal conferences for organizations including the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association.
Outside Our Offices
Bob has dedicated much of his time to various community activities and organizations. Recently, he served as the chairperson for the Red Cross Humanitarian Awards, and he is actively involved in fundraising for various charitable organizations about which he is passionate. Bob has served as a past member of the Board of Directors for Saint John Airport Inc., as a member of the Community Advisory Committee for Greater Saint John Study Local Government Review and as the past chairperson of the Advisory Committee for the Saint John Foundation. He was also actively involved as both a past Director and President of the Kidney Foundation at both a provincial and a national level.
Bob has also written articles and presented papers at conferences for various community organizations such as the New Brunswick Special Care Home Association; Fundy Region Tourism, Province of New Brunswick; and many other special interest groups and organizations.
He co-authored ?Police Training Manual, Young Offenders Act?, 1983, Province of New Brunswick and is author of ?Restructuring, New Brunswick?, Municipal World, Vol. 107, Issue 6, June 1997.

Nathalie was admitted to the New Brunswick Bar in 1995 and has practiced extensively in the fields of civil litigation, administrative law and labour law. In recent years, she has developed significant expertise in malpractice defense work, providing valuable legal advice to executives and professionals in various professions ? physicians, lawyers, engineers, accountants, and many more in the helping professions.
In the area of labour & employment law, Nathalie has assisted employers and employees alike with workplace issues such as harassment complaints and investigations, pension disputes and compensation to injured workers.
Education:
Nathalie completed a Bachelor of Arts at St. Thomas University, and was the recipient of the President?s Scholarship, as well as the Birk?s Medal for Leadership. She attended Law School at the University of New Brunswick, graduating in 1994. Nathalie is fluently bilingual and serves the clients of the firm in both official languages.
Professional Interests:
Nathalie is a champion of many civic organizations. She is a Director with Enterprise Saint John, and is the current Chair of the Saint John Board of Trade. Nathalie is also strongly involved with Canadian Women in Communications, an organization that raises the profile of women working in the communications field through a number of initiatives, including internships and mentoring programs. Nathalie is also the Chair of the Mental Health Tribunal for Southern New Brunswick.
