John Warrington, CMA CFO Atlantic Ltd.
John Warrington provides business advisory services to a number of organizations through his company CFO Atlantic Ltd.
John is a Certified Management Accountant and member of the Society of Management Accountants of New Brunswick where he also acts as a moderator for the CMA Strategic Leadership program. John has been involved with the Saint John Board of Trade for a number of years, initially through the Membership Activities Committee, then moving to the Board of Directors where he was the Board Treasurer then 1st and 2nd Vice Chair.
Born in Saint John, John is a lifelong resident of the area and lives in Rothesay with his wife Kathleen and their two children.

Larry Hachey 1st Vice Chair

Larry Hachey was born in Saint John and primarily grew up in the North End of the city with his six other brothers and sisters. Larry attended St.Malachy’s High school and graduated from both NBCC (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, 1980) and UNB Saint John (Bachelor of Business Administration, 1987). In 1988, Larry joined Bruncor Leasing and began a lifelong passion with the financial services industry, selling equipment finance contracts. Larry became Sales Manager of Bruncor in 1990 and the company became a dominate player within the Atlantic Market. In 1994, Bruncor was sold and Larry started a division of AT&T Capital Canada within the Atlantic Region. Within 3 years, AT&T Capital grew from a start up to well over $20 million in annual sales. After AT&T Capital was in turn sold in 1998, Larry started his own company servicing the equipment finance (leasing) industry in Atlantic Canada under the name of National Leasing. Larry was honored in 2002 to be named a finalist as Ernst & Young Atlantic Canadian Entrepreneur of The Year and in 2003 to have won the Saint John Board of Trade Entrepreneurial Achievement Award. In 2005 Larry and his partners decided to sell their interests in National Leasing and Larry left the firm in 2008.
Larry is currently President of BlueChip Leasing Atlantic, a company specializing in equipment finance for small to medium business. Today, Larry and his wife Donna (Ingersoll) and family reside in Quispamsis with their two children, who are both proud UNB students. Larry enjoys participating on several community boards; President of the UNB Associated Alumni, Board Member of the Horizon Health Network, Past President of the Teen Resource Centre, member of the UNB Senate, Past Chairman Credit Counseling Services of Atlantic Canada, and a Director of the Saint John Board of Trade since 2005.

Eric Poirier 2nd Vice Chair

Eric Poirier is Regional Manager for Bell Aliant in Southwestern NB. A registered professional engineer (P.Eng) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick, Eric leads several teams of technicians responsible for the provisioning of Aliant services as well as maintenance and upgrades to Aliant’s infrastructure.
In addition to his current responsibilities with Bell Aliant, Eric is a very active member of his community. He is a past board member of the Saint John Rotary Club and the Kennebecasis Valley Chamber of Commerce. He is also part of the rapidly growing Francophone community in Saint John, and was recently appointed Vice President of l'Association Régional Communautaire Francophone de Saint Jean.
Eric graduated with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering at the Université de Moncton for which he was awarded the Governor General’s Academic Gold Medal for achieving the highest academic standing at the graduate level. He was also recently recognized as the Université de Moncton’s Engineering Faculty Alumni of the year in 2009.
Eric is very active with local charitable organizations such as the Aliant Pioneer Volunteers and in his spare time, enjoys playing music. He resides in Quispamsis with his wife and two young children.

Patrick Sohy Secretary

Patrick SohyPresidentAvant-Garde Construction and Management Inc. Patrick Sohy was born in Montreal, Quebec, studied at the Polytechnique of the Universite de Montreal in Civil Engineering.
Patrick moved to Saint John in 2002 and joined the team of Global Design as the lead project manager. In 2004 after entering a business partnership, he founded Avant-Garde.
Patrick is a member of Uptown Saint John Urban Design Committee and the Heritage Gala Awards. Patrick has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Saint John Board of Trade since 2006. Patrick is married to Hilary Brock and they have four children. Patrick and his family reside in Rothesay, New Brunswick.

J.M. (Mike) Murphy was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, later residing and working across Atlantic Canada. He is an active member of Greater Saint John's business community. His involvement in many community activities, coupled with a background in banking are assets for the board.
A graduate of Dalhousie University, the Institute of Canadian Bankers and the Canadian Securities Institute, he is Commercial Account Manager for BMO Bank of Montreal 15 Market Square.
Mike chaired the Building Committee for Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Rothesay. Is a board member of the New Brunswick Chamber of Commerce, Greater Saint John Community foundation and Rocmaura Nursing Home. He is also a member of the Vibrant Communities group. In addition to these responsibilities Mike has coached sports at the minor and high school levels.
Mike and his wife Jill reside in the Kennebecasis Valley and have three children.

Practice Areas Andy practices in most areas of litigation, with special interests in personal injury litigation, construction law, labour law and employment law.
Professional Experience Andy has appeared at all levels of court in the Province including Provincial Courts, Tribunals, the Court of Queen's Bench as well as the Court of Appeal.Andy has been the co-author of published material in the Solicitor's Journal.
Professional Affiliations After graduating from the University of New Brunswick with his LL.B. in 2002, Andy immediately joined the team here at Barry Spalding as an Articling Clerk until he was called to the New Brunswick Bar in June 2003 and remained onboard as an associate. Andy is a member of the Saint John Law Society, New Brunswick Law Society, and the Canadian Bar Association.
Outside the Office Moving into the Town of Hampton, Andy and his wife Pamela have quickly felt at home as though they were still in their home province of Newfoundland. Andy has become involved in the community largely through his two children, Matthew and Emily. Keeping him busy during most of his leisure time, Andy has been a volunteer soccer and basketball coach and has followed this supportive lead during the winter months by being a devoted hockey dad.
Andy is currently heavily involved with the Saint John Board of Trade as the Chair of the Government Affairs Committee, he currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre Nursing Home is Hampton and is the former Chair of the Cherry Brook Zoo Board of Directors.

A resident of Quispamsis, NB, Rob joined the Brunswick Pipeline team in December 2008. He is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier and Dalhousie Universities. Rob is a Professional Engineer and has been a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick since 1994.
Rob began his career in the energy sector and brings more than twenty-five years of experience in operations, management and process control experience. He has worked in a broad range of environments across Canada but has been based in the Maritimes for more than 20 years.
Rob is active in the community, and a sports and fitness enthusiast. He is a co-chair of the Business and Community Development Committee of the Saint John Board of Trade, coaches minor hockey and minor baseball, and is a past member of the Board of the Kennebecasis Valley Minor Hockey Association.

Margo has over 25 years experience in the financial services industry, having held senior management positions with major chartered banks and credit unions in the Atlantic Provinces. Margo joined Owens MacFadyen Group in 2005 and is responsible for client, corporate and regulatory compliance and risk management.
She is Chair of the Credit Counseling Services of Atlantic Canada, President of the Saint John Rotary Club, and a member of the Association of Canadian Compliance Professionals.
Margo holds an Executive MBA from Saint Mary’s University, and an undergraduate degree for Acadia University.

Michael George
Michael is a Senior Consultant with Ambir, an independent, Atlantic Canadian, IT consulting services company and has more than 25 years experience in the IT sector. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Dalhousie University and a Master of Science from the University of Alberta. Born in Saint John, Michael has lived and worked in many centres across the country including Halifax, Toronto, Edmonton and Calgary. He and his wife are long time West Saint John residents who have 3 adult children. He has been active for many years with committees and task forces within the Saint John Board of Trade and is driven by a strong desire to help the Saint John region transform itself into a growing, exciting and thriving place to be. Michael has served on the Parent School Support Committees of Ecole Millidgeville North, St. Rose, Barnhill and most recently, St. Malachy’s. He is very passionate and dedicated to the improvement of inclusive education in the province.

Kevin Hocquard, P. Eng.Regional Manager -NB/PEI– Stantec Consulting Limited Kevin Hocquard, P. Eng. is a Senior Environmental Engineer with 16 continuous years of experience following his graduation from the UNB in 1992, where he earned his B.Sc. in Geological Engineering. Mr. Hocquard has been involved in a variety of projects including the restoration & redevelopment of the former CN Shops in Moncton, NB and the environmental remediation/water supply development for the Village of McAdam, NB. Both were award winning projects at the National and Provincial levels respectively. While with the Province of NB as a Remediation Engineer, he led the development of the Guideline for the Management of Contaminated Sites and co-founded the Atlantic Partners in Risk Based Corrective Action Implementation (Atlantic PIRI) committee. Since 2002, he has held successive leadership roles in operational management with the former Jacques Whitford and is currently the NB PEI Regional Manager for Stantec Consulting Limited, reporting to the President, Atlantic Canada. He is a graduate of the firm’s executive development program associated with the Queens School of Business. Under his leadership the firm’s regional operation has doubled in size since 2002. Kevin is a current Board Member and Committee Volunteer with the Saint John Board of Trade. He is married, has two children and lives in Quispamsis, NB.

Mary is a family physician who practices in West Saint John. She is a member of the active staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital. A native of Fredericton, she obtained her medical degree from Dalhousie University in 1984 and practiced in Fredericton for 20 years. She and her family have been proud to call the Saint John area home for the past 6 years. She is past president of the Saint John Medical Society, chair of the Section of General Practice, NB Medical Society, and medical advisor of Portage Atlantic.

Claire Ryan is an account coordinator at MT&L Public Relations Ltd. An active member of the community, Claire has lent her communications skills to a variety of organizations, including the Harvesting the Arts Festival, Bosom Buddies and Marathon by the Sea. She is the communications chair of FUSION Saint John, and in that capacity writes InFusion, a column that appears weekly in the Telegraph-Journal. Dr. Ruth Shaw Dr. Ruth Shaw (BScDA, MScCS, PhD [UNB]) accepted an appointment as Dean of Science, Applied Science, and Engineering, for a three-year term on July 1, 2008. To this position Dr. Shaw brings an outstanding record of teaching and research, administrative experience, and extensive service on both campus and university-wide committees.
Dr. Shaw has worked at UNB Saint John since 1980, joining the faculty full-time in 1994. During this time she has taught more than 90 undergraduate and graduate courses. She has received an Allan P. Stuart Memorial Award for Excellence in Teaching (1998), and Merit Awards for 1998-99, 2000-01, and 2007-08.
Dr. Shaw is the recipient of several grants: UNB Research Fund 1994-95, Environmental Research Fund 1996, NSERC 1996-2000 (4 yrs.), Canada Foundation for Innovation 1997-98, NSERC 2000-04 (4yrs.), and NSERC 2004-2009 (5 yrs.).
Dr. Shaw has over 50 papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings. Her recent research is in developing efficient algorithms for parallel processing.

Mark Sherman Board of Director

Mark Sherman, Irving Oil Refinery, General Manager
Mark Sherman is a resident of Rothesay, New Brunswick.
Mark joined Irving Oil in 2008 as the General Manager of the Irving Oil Refinery. Prior to this, Mark worked in Fort McMurray for 25 years with Syncrude, the world’s largest producer of synthetic crude oil from oil sands. While with Syncrude, Mark held several operations positions, including Vice-President of Operations.
As General Manager of the Irving Oil Refinery, Mark is responsible for operations and for developing growth opportunities. In 2009, Mark successfully led a $220 million turnaround, the largest ever in the company’s history.
Irving Oil operates Canada's largest refinery in Saint John, N.B., which has reached production rates in excess of 300,000 barrels per day. The refinery exports over 80 per cent of its production to the U.S., and accounts for 75 per cent of Canada's gasoline exports to the U.S.
Mark grew up in Port Hawkesbury, NS and graduated from the Mechanical Engineering program at the Technical University of Nova Scotia. Mark also holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics from Mount Allison University. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick.
Over the past 25 years Mark has been involved in a variety of community organizations and has served as a minor hockey and baseball coach as well as the District President of the Little League Baseball of Alberta. Mark has a particular interest in addressing workforce demographics and skills shortages in Canada through provincial and national participation.

Gerry Verner, BScEE., MBA A senior level Executive with over 20 years experience in developing and marketing leading-edge Information Technology and Telecommunications products and services. Extensive experience in software development and Software as a Service (SaaS) business models. Successfully raised over $150 Million in financing from Venture Capitalists, a NASDAQ/Toronto Stock Exchange IPO, and Government sources Gerry started his career in telecommunications and held various technical and business roles during a 12 year career with NBTel. While there, Gerry was instrumental in developing the business plan and strategy for the rollout of broadband services throughout New Brunswick. As one of the original members of iMagicTV, a leading edge global broadband video software company and NBTel subsidiary, Gerry served as it's Vice President, Marketing and Finance, and Vice President Marketing and Business Development. During that time, Gerry led the company through three stages of financing bringing in over $50 million from venture capital and strategic investors including Celtic House International, WhiteCap Venture Partners, Newbridge Networks, Alcatel, AOL and Cisco Systems. Gerry also led the company through a NASDAQ/TSE IPO raising an additional $75 million for the company. iMagicTV was acquired by Alcatel in 2002. In 2002, Gerry also served as President and Chief Operating Officer of CyberSecure Inc., where he helped transition the Company for growth, developing the sales organization and raising $500K in marketing funding from Government sources. From late 2002 to 2009 Gerry led AnyWare Group as CEO. While at AnyWare, Gerry transitioned the Company from a small, closely held professional services Company to a growth oriented, VC backed technology leader, offering its flagship "ROAM" Software as a Service" platform to more than 60 hospitals throughout North America. Gerry holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from the University of New Brunswick. Gerry also holds a technology patent for a television set top box. He resides in Quispamsis, NB with his wife Anne and daughters Amanda and Lauren.

Scott Walton President
Scott Walton founded Enovex in 2009 with the aspirations of taking a coal plant carbon capture system from idea to market. He has cultivated vital partnerships with many industrial firms and attracted involvement from some of the world’s leading scientists in air separation. He is pioneering the development of potentially the world’s first economical carbon capture system. Scott serves as a Director on the World Petroleum Council Youth Board, FUSION Saint John where he co-chairs the Urban Planning & Development Committee, and he sits on the Propel Energy Committee. He was selected as one of the 21 leaders for New Brunswick (21 Inc) where he toured the province discussing key issues and interacting with political leaders, entrepreneurs, and community leaders. Last year he was chosen as one of Atlantic Canada’s top 50 leaders under 35 (ELS) and in 2009 Scott was selected to attend David Suzuki’s sustainability summit where companies, societies, and cultures were analyzed for their sustainability performance. Scott has a passion for sustainability and clean energy, and continues to develop his perspective within the energy sector."
