As President of the Saint John Board of Trade, Imelda is the senior staff officer of the organization. She is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Officers and members of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors; planning and coordinating activities; assisting committees and task forces; managing the staff; and, serves as a spokesperson for the organization. Ms. Gilman joined the Board of Trade in 1995 as its Membership Sales Director. In 1998, she was appointed the Board’s Policy & Communications Director. Prior to joining the Saint John Board of Trade, Ms. Gilman spent thirteen years with the New Brunswick Publishing Company as an account executive both in Saint John and Fredericton. Imelda Gilman was born in Swansea, Wales and emigrated to Canada in 1975. She graduated from Simonds High School and the New Brunswick Community College – Saint John with a diploma in Business Administration – Marketing. Ms. Gilman is a member of the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Canada, Canadian Society of Association Executives, Board member of the New Brunswick Chamber of Commerce and currently serves as the Chair of the Urban Chamber Caucus for the Atlantic Provinces Chambers of Commerce. Imelda is active with a variety of community organizations including a District Council member of Junior Achievement of Southwestern New Brunswick and a member of the Rotary Club of Saint John.

With her winning smile and warm sophisication, our Marketing and Sales Officer - Terri Marchand, is a natural when it comes to establishing professional and personal relationships with Board of Trade members. Terri brings over 10 years of experience in sales and marketing, public relations and event management through her previous positions with Poley Mountain, the Town of Sussex and the Hammond River Conservation Center. Terri's professionalism and natural charm not only benefit her career, but also aid in her volunteer efforts with many community based organizations. Terri is an invaluable member of the Saint John Board of Trade's team and we look forward to working with her for years to come.

Carole Cunningham Events and Office Coordinator

Carole Cunningham is the Events & Office Coordinator for the Saint John Board of Trade. She provides administrative support to the President, Executive Committee and Board of Directors. She also coordinates and supervises office administration, organizes and coordinates events such as breakfasts, dinners, luncheons and other networking opportunities. She provides staff support to assigned committees, task forces and member forums. Ms. Cunningham joined the Saint John Board of Trade in 1992. Previous to that she was the Director of Information Services (Bilingual) for the Montreal Board of Trade where she supervised and coordinated the duties of four employees, and answered various enquiries from 2,600 corporate members (7,000 representatives) conducting surveys, research, and organizing trade missions and trade shows. Carole was born in Marlboro, Massachusetts, and at the age of 9 moved to Montreal where she graduated from Malcolm Campbell High School and Chatelain College with a bilingual proficiency diploma. Carole is very active with a number of community clubs. She was one of many that was instrumental in bringing in the National Gymnastics Championships to Harbour Station in 2001 as the Head of Facilities. As well, in her spare time, she co organizes a major annual dance competition “Dance Quest” here in Saint John which brings over 500 dancers into the city.

Michelle MacDonald Administrative Assistant

Ms. MacDonald joined the Board of Trade in 2007 as Administrative Assistant for the Saint John Board of Trade. Michelle is the primary point of contact between the Saint John Board of Trade and members or visitors to its offices. She is responsible for providing administrative support to the activities of the Board, for database maintenance, for administration of various events and providing staff support to a variety of functions. Michelle MacDonald was born in Quispamsis, NB. She graduated from Kennebecasis Valley High School with Honours, and CompuCollege with a diploma in Executive Office Assistant. She was awarded Top Student Award for the Executive Office Program.

Erinor Jacob Policy and Research Officer

Erinor Jacob is the newest member of the Saint John Board of Trade. Her position is that of Policy and Research Officer. She provides support to the President, Committee Chairs, and management of the Board's committess. She is also responsible for policy research for the Board of Trade. Erinor graduated with her Master of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario in 2006 where her studies were focused on comparative and international relations, and electoral system design. She obtained her BA in Politics from the University of New Brunswick Saint John in 2003. In addition to her interest in politics, Erinor enjoys running and has completed several half marathons. Originally born in Toronto, Erinor has lived in Saint John for the better part of twenty years. Erinor is excited to be joining the Saint John Board of Trade and contributing to the economic development of the greater Saint John Area.
