Jim was appointed as President & Chief Executive Officer of Saint John Port Authority in September 2012. Jim
brings over 30 years of experience in the marine and public sectors and began his career on ships out of the Port of Saint John in the mid 1970s. In 1981, he re-joined the Canadian Coast Guard where he was promoted to leadership positions including Regional Director of the Central and Arctic Region and Director General Marine Programs. Jim’s Coast Guard experience took him to ports across Canada and around the world.
After 23 years with the Coast Guard, Jim joined the Privy Council Office’s Machinery of Government Secretariat and Social Development Policy Secretariat as a Senior Advisor. In 2002, Jim joined Indian and Northern Affairs Canada as Director General of Lands and was promoted through several leadership positions culminating in the Chief Financial Officer / Assistant Deputy Minister role; a role he was also appointed to in December 2009 with the Canadian International Development Agency. On September 20, 2010 Jim was appointed to the position of President & Chief Executive Officer of the Saint John Port Authority.
Jim is a 1975 graduate of St. Malachy’s Memorial High School, a graduate of Dalhousie University (BSc), and holds the professional designation of Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
In 2009, Jim was awarded the inaugural Award of Excellence for Comptrollership in the Public Sector by the Certified Management Accountants of Canada and the United Kingdom’s Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy. This award helped Jim establish a scholarship fund at his home town school, St. Malachy’s Memorial High School.
Donna Mazerolle, CPA, CMA is the principal of Donna Mazerolle & Associates, an accounting/business advisory firm. She has over 27 years of combined experience in consulting (operations, human resources, and financial), business management, wholesale/retail, distribution, manufacturing, and audit (CRA).
As an independent consultant, Donna has assisted clients in acquisitions of businesses, re-engineering/restructuring operations to improve profitability, assisted in developing plans for survival of organizations facing bankruptcies (turn around strategies), strategic planning, growth strategies, and business diagnostics (highlight areas of opportunities for improvements), developing human resource strategies, and in securing funds for expansion or working capital.
In industry, Donna held senior management positions with a number of multi-national organizations in manufacturing and wholesale/retail distribution.
Donna holds a CPA, CMA designation (Chartered Professional Accountant – 2015, Certified Management Accountant – 94). She is 50 years old and resides in Saint John with her two daughters Jamie (8), and Jules (6).
In winter she can be found at Poley Mountain skiing. In summer, on a road bike, hiking trail, or as rail meat on Sumroo (racing - sail boat).
Andy Carson is Director, Business Development Initiatives at Irving Oil, based in Saint John, NB. He joined the company in 2008.
In this role, Andy focuses on new capital projects and joint venture development and management for Irving Oil.
Andy was born and raised in Saint John, NB. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Mount Allison University before studying law at the University of New Brunswick and Dalhousie University.
While a university student, Andy was a winner of several national writing and public speaking competitions, including the “As Prime Minister” Awards in 2002. He was also selected as a Lord Beaverbrook Scholar at UNB Law in 2003.
Dr. Jeff Clark is a dentist and owner of River Valley Dental, a family dental practice located in the Grand Bay-Westfield area. He has been practising dentistry for over 22 years.
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Brunswick and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Dalhousie University. Jeff is active in his profession and currently serves on the New Brunswick Dental Society Board as Past President.
Jeff has served on numerous committees and boards and is pleased to currently serve as a Board member for The Chamber.
Jeff and his wife Joanne live in Rothesay, N.B. with their two teenage children, Jamie and Emma.
Cynthia has more than 20 years’ experience as a leader and senior specialist in communications, marketing and public affairs across a variety of sectors including post-secondary education, energy, gaming and agency.
Before joining Revolution, she held successively senior communications roles with some of Atlantic Canada’s most well-known brands, such as Mount Allison University, Atlantic Lottery Corporation, Irving Oil and the University of New Brunswick. At Revolution, Cynthia leads client work for organizations of various sizes and sectors, nationwide. She also contributes to the overall strategic direction and operational management of the agency.
Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Journalism (Highest Honours in Journalism and Law) from Carleton University. She is an avid volunteer and board member of a number of community and professional organizations, including CNIB New Brunswick, the Saint John Development Corporation and the Saint John Tourism Coalition of New Brunswick. She is currently Co-Chair of the Energy East Partners’ Forum in Saint John, a True Growth 2.0 working group.
Cynthia and her family reside in Quispamsis, New Brunswick.
Paul Gordon General Manager Scholten's Stores Saint John
Paul Gordon is the General Manager of Scholten's Stores in the greater Saint John area, comprising of 3 locations and over 70 employees. Paul has been with Scholten's for 35 years and has been managing different aspects of the company for 33 of those years. During this time he has also been involved with the design, renovation, and construction of 8 different retail locations. He recently supervised the construction of a brand new location on Loch Lomond Road and an extensive redesign of a current location on Somerset Street.
Paul has been a member of the Chamber of Commerce for over 20 years and has served on the Board for the majority of that time. He has also been involved in many other organizations and committees.
Paul and his wife Theresa live in Grand Bay-Westfield with their 2 yellow labs. His personal interests lie in playing golf, billiards, and travel.

J.D. Irving, Limited
Chris MacDonald was born in Chatham, New Brunswick. In 1986 Chris graduated from St. Thomas University with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons. Dist.). In 1989 he graduated from University of Ottawa where he completed a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B.).
Chris joined Saint John Shipbuilding Limited (“SJSL”) as in-house legal counsel in 1991. In 1995 he was transferred to SJSL’s parent company, J.D. Irving, Limited. In January, 2004 Chris took on the additional role of Director, Government Relations for the J.D. Irving group of companies.
In January, 2015 Chris was promoted to Vice President, Government Relations and Industrial Benefit Programs. In this role he has maintained his government relations duties while taking on the additional responsibility of managing the Industrial and Regional Benefit and Value Proposition programs pursuant to Irving Shipbuilding’s contracts with the Federal Government.
Chris is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and Law Society of New Brunswick. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Saint John Chamber of Commerce and Sports New Brunswick, and he is a former member of the Board of Directors of Enterprise Saint John and the Greater Saint John Community Foundation.
Chris is married to Jane Grannan, and they have three children. Chris and his family reside in Rothesay, New Brunswick.
